Enon Baptist Church, Oxford, N.C. seeking part time staff positions.
Enon Baptist Church is seeking a part time children’s director and a part time youth director. Since
children ministry and youth ministry are two separate entities requiring different skill sets and schedules,
these positions are described separately and are expected to be separate positions with one person filling
each position. However, understanding the need to be flexible, we are willing to discuss the possibility of
one person filling both positions if he/she has the flexibility and the necessary skills to hold both ministry
positions. An ideal situation could be a couple who would serve together as a team with one specializing
in youth ministry while the other specializes in children ministry.
The director(s) will provide leadership to the children/youth of our church and its surrounding community
by planning, coordinating, and administering programs that reflect the mission of Enon Baptist Church:
“We will share the love of Christ with our community and world.”
Children’s Director
Build healthy relationships with children and parents of Enon Baptist Church as well as with
participating children and parents of our community.
Be intentional in reaching out and communicating with children and their parents in the
community through social media, local media (newspaper, radio), appropriate visitation, and
participating in church-wide outreach efforts.
Plan and implement the church’s regular Children’s Ministry (weekly gatherings and Bible
lessons, Sunday School, choir practice, children’s sermons, etc.).
Plan and implement special events for children (camps, retreats, mission trips, service projects,
etc.).
Coordinate and oversee Vacation Bible School.
Coordinate and oversee special programs (Christmas, Easter, musicals, etc.).
Work with church to establish the annual budget for the children’s program.
Work with the pastor, church staff, and the church at the annual planning meeting to schedule
children’s activities for the church calendar.
Effectively communicate with the children and their parents using available media (i.e. email,
texts, phone calls, social media posts, church web-site).
Work closely with the pastor for input and to communicate the status, plans, and any concerns
relative to the children’s program.
Recruit, organize, and oversee any volunteers needed for all children’s activities and programs.
Personal Expectations
Must be a professing Christian who demonstrates a strong Christian character; a growing
relationship with Christ; and a healthy, moral lifestyle.
Must demonstrate a love for children and the appropriate training and/or experience in children’s
ministries and a willingness to grow and learn in children’s ministry.
Must demonstrate a willingness to be a “team player,” with parents, volunteers, church staff, and
the congregation at large.
Must have the necessary relational skills for interacting with children and their parents.
Must be self-motivated and a self-starter.
Must always strive to present oneself in a way that is favorable to the cause of Christ and the
reputation of Enon Baptist Church and its mission.
Must demonstrate theological beliefs consistent with those of Enon Baptist Church.
Education and Qualifications
Candidates should be pursuing studies in Christian ministry; however, candidates with experience
working with children and/or in children ministry will also be considered.
Salary
Up to $22,000 for both positions combined based on qualifications and experience.
