Rev. Steve Brown has been serving at Enon since 2008-- first as youth pastor, becoming full-time pastor in 2012.
Steve's educational background is diverse, achieving his AAS degree in Fish and Wildlife Management from Wayne Community College, then a BS in Biology and his teacher certification from Campbell University. He taught science at South Granville High School from 1980-2008. Upon retirement, Steve followed a long-felt call to ministry, earning his Master of Divinity degree from Campbell University Divinity School. Steve serves his congregation with a passion for leading others to Christ and a devotion to serving others.
His interests include guitar, claw hammer banjo, bluegrass and old time music, backpacking, camping, and fishing.
Steve and his wife Edna lovingly parent three children, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Ruby Royster is Enon's pianist and choir leader. She has a gift for selecting and playing music that greatly enhances our worship service. She is also much-loved by Enon's children, who often flock to her after the service.
Church Pianist / Organist
Carolyn Futrell
Carolyn Futrell has been deeply involved in several churches, and in many different capacities. Having been a devoted pastor’s wife for over 40 years, Carolyn has served in a variety of roles, including mentor, Sunday school teacher, choir member, choir director, musician, and wherever else needed. She and her husband shared four children and nine grandchildren before his passing, nearly three years ago.
In her professional life, Carolyn worked in human resources with Johnston Health in Smithfield before retiring. She now works part-time in the same field for Granville Health. When not working or serving the church, Carolyn enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, crocheting, reading, and of course, music!
We are glad to have Carolyn as a part of our church family!
